My cat, his sister, their friend, and I can waste literally hours with a laser pointer. They chase “The Spot” until they are delirious. I try to make it behave like a live animal would, and often end the chase by making it dart under a closed door. Whereby the cats will congregate outside the door, have a conference, and wait for The Spot to reemerge.
I’m pretty sure it’s a form of psychological torment, but I’m not sorry.
